Secret pancake recipe

Honestly, this recipe is a little treasure and I’m not lying if I say these are some of the best pancakes I ever ate. They can easily keep up with those hyped New York spots where you supposedly get the best pancakes in town.

Just look at these babies..

Discovering Lake Como – Bellagio & Varenna

Italy is always worth a trip. And if you are as much into mountains and water as I am you definitely should visit lake Como. To avoid the crowds, we decided to go in October. Not the best choice if you want to go swimming or sunbathing but you can enjoy all nice spots without having to queue for ages. We rented a little apartment in Bellagio right at the centre of the lake.

Iceland Roadtrip Part 3 – Horses, Trolls & Black Beaches

So we left our hotel (Hotel Anna) early in the morning after a proper breakfast to get as much out of the day as possible. After the stormy night we were greeted with sunshine and saw our surroundings for the first time. We thought it would be time to greet the locals and thank them for having us.

Chasing Ghosts in Key West

I have to confess I never did something like this before, I swear. But unique places require unique discovery approaches, right?

It all started in Jupiter (Florida) where we decided to explore the southernmost point of the US, Key West. So we spontaneously booked a hotel room the night before we left, got in our rental car and drove the epic roads to Key West.

New York – Lower Eastside Food Hunting

As a New York newbie I pretty much wanted to discover the whole city at once. So where to start? We decided to go for Lower Eastside that seemed to be a more laid back and less crowded than Midtown. It was a good choice as it turned out because we had some good food spots in walking distance and could discover the city without being overwhelmed.

We stayed at the Ludlow Hotel with the perfect view of Manhattan’s skyline.

Breakfast Inspiration

I kind of have a twisted relation-ship with breakfast. I completely neglect it within weekdays but love it on weekends. So on Saturdays and Sundays I trade a quick coffee and cereal for a proper meal that needs to cover breakfast as well as lunch (I’m not much of a morning person on a weekend). However, if you don’t want to leave the house in search for a great spot it somehow requires some thoughts and preparation. So here are some of my current favourite breakfast dishes.

Iceland Roadtrip Part 2 – The Golden Circle

After our short stay in Reykjavík, we left our hotel in the early morning around 8 am but it felt like the middle of the night. There had been a storm and clouds were hanging around everywhere. But as we knew we had quite a ride in front of us we wanted to make sure to spend the sunrise at a nice spot (which I guess is everywhere in Iceland).img_5527

City trip Edinburgh – Whisky Tasting

When it comes to choosing a city trip for a long weekend there are obvious choices like Paris, Amsterdam or London where you know you can’t go wrong with. Everyone knows about the beauty of Paris, the free spirit of Amsterdam or the creativity of London. Somehow Scotland’s little capital in the north is often forgotten – without any good reason.

Iceland Roadtrip Part 1 – Reykjavík

Iceland has always been a country on my secret bucket list but yet when it came about planning a much needed holiday, there have always been destinations that won the pitch. Getting away from Europe’s cold weather and dreaming about tropical cocktails appeared to be of much higher value. So the little volcanic island at the edge of Europe remained undiscovered – until that day in September…
